It’s been a while, uh? To be more accurate, a month or so has passed since the last time I’ve written something, but before I start babbling about anything else, I wanted to stress how thankful I am to all those nice people who have been visiting my blog even though I haven’t updated for such a long time. Thank you!
Exams went ugh which means they didn’t go badly, but this doesn’t even mean they went well, that’s why I haven’t written anything; I needed time to, I don’t know, relax?? or something like that? But I think that now I’m fine, so for a few weeks I won’t have anything to worry about. Well, nothing that doesn’t concern uni at least.
Anyway!!!!! I don’t want to complain/think about this anymore. Let’s get to the point. Today’s manga is Koi wa Kamen no Uchigawa ni (Love is Inside a Mask) by Muneyama Yoshimi. (ㅇㅅㅇ❀)
Sensei’s name might ring a bell for some of oyu, but for those who do not know who they might be, I’m happy to tell you myself that they are Anitsuu!‘s mangaka, which I suggest you to read if you’re up for something light and if you already haven’t.~
Well, what to say, I was waiting for this kind of story, for this, and finally my copy arrived and I’m glad I can talk about this to you all!
This is a love story (
well, obviously) between the /mysterious/ hero, Rider W(olf), and his no.1 fan, the high schooler Zoukiya.
Since he was a child, Zoukiya has always been fond of heroes and that led him to start acting like one (he beats up disrespectful fellows at school and such); in his “free time” he also enjoys watching Rider W perform.
After a commotion durig one of the shows, Zoukiya helps a little on the stage and somehow ends up hugging his idol. It’s Zoukiya who acts all clingy near /his/ Rider W at first, but they soon start getting closer that at some point he sort of confess, or at least he tells Rider he likes his role in the show.
But, what is a story without a lil’ bit of drama? lol, well, chapter four at least is that kind of chapter in which it appears the well-kown antagonist and tries to ruin things for our main characters and, in fact, when Jin, also a high schooler, pops up things between Raider W and Zoukiya gets bitter, so bitter that the latter ends up crying.
Chapter five is the last chapter, in which we finally find out who’s Raider W. I’m not gonna spoil anything, hopefully someone will translate this so you’ll find out sooner or later. But, I’ll just tell you that is someone who appears here and there during the whole work. We’ll call him character x for now.
So, where was I? Oh, yeah, last chapter, last chapter… After arguing with Raider W, the days of our high schooler seems to pass peacefully until he gets into a fight. Well, more than a fight, it’s more an ambush. Off guard, Zoukiya’s on the verge of being beaten up with a tube, but character x arrives and saves him– and the day. There’s no need for me to highlight that after this there’s gonna be a happy ending, isn’t there? Well, the two of them end up together after character x confesses him that he was Raider W.
Sooo, this is the first plot I’ve explained so shortly and SO BADLY, but I had to omit a lot to avoid spoilering the real identity of Raider W. I’m sure, though, that after reading each page carefully, you’ll be able to get who he is (or at least, to try and guess) before reaching chapter 5. I believe that sensei has also left plenty of hints. You just have to carfelly pay attention to details.~
Overall, Koi wa Kamen no Uchigawa ni is a great read for those who are looking for something easy-to-read, refreshing and pure. It has its fair share of humour, with likeable characters and good art, but also makes you want to pray and bug sensei for a sequel or something. After all, it’s not unexpected to see this kind of ending from Muneyama-sensei. I highly recommend this series, and am anxiously awaiting to get my hands on their other projects! (ↀωↀ)✧
EDIT. I’m adding this, so you all can see who’s Jin. ♥
